Die Gruppe real.-Mapping (Sebastian Stegner und Matze Schmidt) laedt zu 
einer Werkstatt ein, in der es um die Anlayse der theoretischen 
Dimensionen der Frage nach dem Staat geht. Mit der 'medialen Methode' 
des "real mapping", der grafischen Prozessierung von Kritik, werden 
zusammen mit Anwohnern und Interessierten, der Werkstattraum und 
Werbflaechen in der Stadt gemapt.

"Globalisierung" steht als Begriff auch fuer die Aufloesung des
Nationalstaates zugunsten einer vom Kapital diktierten neoliberalen
Politik. Politik scheint nicht laenger gesellschaftliche Verhaeltnisse zu
gestalten, sondern ist den Wuenschen nach hohen Profiten des
internationalen Kapitals untergeordnet. Aber ist das wirklich so? Was
ist Staat und wie hat er sich historisch entwickelt? In welchem
Verhaeltnis stehen Staat und kapitalistische Warenproduktion? Schafft die
Ausdehnung des Weltmarktes wirklich den Nationalstaat ab? Ist der Staat
nicht fuer die Menschen da?

Waehrend das Thalia Theater im NEUSTAAT HALLE unter der Fragestellung
"Welche Rolle spielt der Staat?" neue Formen der Wissensvermittlung
entwickelt, orientiert sich das Programm "beautiful Neustadt", das
gemeinsam durch die Stiftung Bauhaus Dessau und die IBA Stadtumbau 2010
ausgerichtet wird, auf die neu zu entdeckenden Qualitaeten, Potentiale
und Schoenheiten der Neustadt.

The real.-Mapping group (Sebastian Stegner and Matze Schmidt) invite you
to take part in a practical workshop aimed at analysing the theoretical
dimensions of the question about the state. Through the use of "real
mapping", ie processing criticism through graphics, and together with
residents and other interested parties, a workshop space as well as
billboards in the town will be mapped.

"Globalisation" is a term used to describe the dissolving of nation
states to the advantage of financially dictated neo-liberal politics.
Politics no longer seem to define social conditions, but to be
subordinate to the will of international concerns and their desire for
large profits. Is that really the case? What is the state and how has it
developed through history? What relationship is there between the state
and capitalist goods manufacture? Will the extension of the global
market really mean the end of the nation state? Is the state not there
in the first line for its people?

Whilst the Thalia Theatre is developing new forms of knowledge
communication by asking the question "What role does the state play?",
the "beautiful Neustadt" programme, which has been jointly organised by
the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation and the IBA City Conversion 2010
Saxony-Anhalt, will aim at finding Neustadt’s quality, potential and
beauty.

PS: "Neustaat Halle" is a wordplay of the name of the former city 
"Halle-Neustadt" (Stadt = city) and "Staat" for "state".
